Anthony Lane’s review on Elastigirl from the new Incredibles 2 movie are causing people to have an uproar on how Lane sexualizes the character from a film with a huge children audience. From the start of the New York Film Critic’s review, he begins opening up about how the superhero move “trampoline me” sounds like it could be sex related. To further emphasize his lust for the mom in the Incredibles, Elastigirl, he adds his comments on her tight superhero suit. But this isn’t even the root of what people have taken an issue with, it’s the description of how it makes him feel down there during the film – in the theatres – while its playing: “Take your seat at any early evening screening of “Incredibles 2” in the coming days, listen carefully, and you may just hear a shifty sound, as of parents squirming awkwardly beside their enraptured offspring. And why, kids? Because Mommy just leaned over to Daddy and whispered, ‘Is it just me, or does Mrs. Incredible kind of look like Anastasia in “Fifty Shades of Grey?’ You know, the girl in the Red Room, with all the whips and all?” And Daddy just rested his cooling soda firmly in his lap and, like Mr. Incredible, tried very hard to think of algebra. As for how Daddy will react later on, during the scene in which Helen and the husky-voiced Evelyn unwind and simply talk, woman to woman, I hate to think, but watch out for flying popcorn.” Can we just take a moment and let this sink in. Bare in mind you’ll probably be in a room filled with children as you watch this film. But sure, let’s just let Lane publicize his horny thoughts about the children’s film. Although - he may not be the only one to notice Elastigirl’s figure based on the search results for “Elastigirl” on social media and google. Because of the generation we live in that is all about robust bottoms – Mrs. Incredible is now receiving attention for how she’s always looked since the first Incredibles film back in 2004.
