Many of us remember a few weeks back seeing, a somewhat scary moment where, Wendy Williams passed out on live television! Tons of rumors and speculation circled around why Williams fell. In the scene Wendy is talking and suddenly her speech begins to slur, her eyes bulge a bit and she collapses.
Show reps claimed that Wendy overheated in her costume and after taking a break returned to finish the recording. Williams has been battling with graves disease for the past few years. The Mayo Clinic describes graves disease as “an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism).”
The symptoms of graves disease include anxiety, weight loss, heat sensitivity, palpitations, fatigue and bulging eyes, according to the Mayo Clinic. Wendy's doctors are requiring her to take off three weeks to rest and get acclimated with her medication.
Although Williams was reluctant to take this break stating “I’m not an heiress. Who’s gonna pay my bills? Are you serious? I’m just saying, I come from working class” the show will run in repeats until she returns.
We wish you well Wendy! Urban Hydration will keep the hot topics coming in the mean time!
